Trespass Waterproof Jacket | Review

Everyone warned me that it always rained in Wales. Well, they were almost right. It doesn’t rain all the time – just most of the time, or so it feels! Back in Brum, I barely walked anywhere, so I didn’t have a decent coat, relying on hoodies and cardi’s in all but the coldest weather when the big winter coat made an appearance.

Here in Wales, I find myself outdoors a lot more and walking lots, and I really needed a decent waterproof coat. I’d bought a flimsy shower proof jacket online a couple of months ago but it’s pretty useless. When Trespass, one of the biggest outdoor clothing retailers, got in touch and asked me if I wanted to review a waterproof coat, I was rather pleased!

They have a huge range of waterproof jackets, and I opted for the Alamosa Waterproof 3-in-1 jacket. It’s a multipurpose coat with an inner microfleece, which can be taken out, and an outer jacket shell. I love the idea of being able to wear one product three ways, and a decent fleece is always good for dry but chilly days. The outer jacket has taped seams to keep out moisture and also has a windproof seam. It gets really breezy down on the beach, so this was perfect. There is a hood, which can be concealed in the collar, a chest pocket (handy for my phone), and two lower pockets.

I’ve worn both the fleece by itself and the outer shell – it’s been too warm to need both together, but it will be perfect for the winter. The fleece is lovely and soft and is just what I need for popping to the shop or for a walk. Thankfully, I haven’t had to go out in any heavy rain since having the coat, but I’ve had it on for chilly evening walks and it’s kept me cosy.

I chose the jacket in black but it comes in a range of colours, so not only is it practical, it’s nice to look at as well. I’m really impressed with the jacket – but I’m still hoping the rain stays away a little bit longer!

You can see the full range of jackets and other outdoor clothing and equipment on the Trespass website.
