Bamboo Towels from The Towel Shop | Review and Giveway

You really do know that you’re getting older when you get excited about new towels, and boy, was I excited about getting these new bamboo towels from The Towel Shop.

Bamboo Towels from The Towel Shop Review and Giveaway

We have, shamefully, got the same set of towels that we bought and were given as housewarming gifts six years ago. They were decent towels so still do the job but to be honest, are looking a little bit tired now. We did buy a new super cheap set a couple of months ago, but to be honest, I could dry myself with a piece of kitchen roll and it would be more effective. To me, towels are something that need to be good quality, otherwise they’re pointless!

When these bamboo towels from The Towel Shop arrived and I got them ready for my shower, I was a bit surprised. They felt lovely and soft but really quite thin. I’m so used to thick fluffy towels that I thought they were going to be a bit naff. Man, I was wrong!

Despite the fact they aren’t particularly thick, they are so, so lovely and soft against your skin and incredibly absorbent. In fact, bamboo is three times as absorbent as ordinary cotton, and this really showed. I only towel dry my hair, so having a good towel is important and it didn’t take me anywhere near as long.

Now, down to the washing and drying – an important factor to me. I know that it’s better for your towels to air-dry, but to be honest, in a wet Welsh winter, there really isn’t many opportunities to stick them outside on the line, and if I’m honest, I love the fluffiness of tumble dried towels. These washed and came through the tumble dryer really nicely. I put them outside on the one dry day we have had and within a couple of hours, they were completely dry, unlike my cotton ones which seem to take hours! More importantly, they didn’t have that sort of ‘hardness’ that air dried towels sometimes have – they were still super soft!

At some point this year, we will be buying another couple of sets of these to start replacing all of our old ones because they are such good quality, and with prices starting at £2.39 for a face cloth (cheaper if you buy them in bulk!), I think they are really reasonably priced.

The lovely people at The Towel Shop are giving readers of my blog a chance to win a set of their own – a face cloth, a hand towel, a bath towel and a bath sheet – in the colour of their choice. To enter, follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter widget below.

  1. i think the charcoal grey is gorgeous! i love bamboo fabric, softest thing i’ve ever felt

  2. It is hard to choose between the cream or the latte! Thanks for the chance, these look great!

  3. I would choose the cream colour because they would look great with my brown towels as a contrasting colour 🙂 x

  4. I think I would probably choose plain white, though I know that’s a tad daring hehe!

  5. I would choose silver, or charcoal. It’s a tough choice as both would look lovely in my bathroom 😀 x

  6. Love the ‘Silver’ would compliment the decor in my bathroom beautifully x x
