Our latest Bostik Blogger box arrived this week, and this month’s theme was ‘weather’. I thought this was pretty appropriate considering the crazy weather that we have had recently – one minute it’s snowing, the next we are sitting outside in shorts and t-shirts!
We decided to make a weather mobile to hang up in the play room. It was pretty simple, and even though we used pre-cut foam shapes for ours, you could easily make the shapes yourself out of card.
You will need:
A small branch/long twig
Foam weather shapes or ones cut out of card
Gems, sequins and buttons
Wool or string
Simply decorate the foam weather shapes (or your card cut outs) with various embellishments. We used buttons and sequins and gems to give it a bit of sparkle! The Bostik Fine and Wide Glu Pen is fine for sticking down smaller gems and buttons. It didn’t quite hold down the bigger buttons, but we scrunched up some yellow crepe paper to stick on the sun instead, and the glue held this perfectly.
Using a hole punch, punch a small hole in the top of the shapes, and thread a pipe cleaner through (you could use wool instead). Twist the ends to secure it.
Twist the other end of the pipe cleaner around the branch/stick.
Cut a piece of wool or string the ends to the stick to hang it up from.
