Pink Clove Clothing Review

Every year for the past twelve years or so we have been going to a big party every Christmas at a local hotel. Everyone I know goes – my family and friends – so it’s always been something I really look forward to.

The last few years have been much harder though. With any big Christmas party, one of the main things we all talk about in the run up is what we are going to wear, and that has been something I have really struggled with, especially this year. There’s always so many women there looking beautiful in their dresses, and I always feel really self concious. Being tall and ‘plus sized’, I struggle to find outfits that not only fit me, but look nice and feel comfortable as well. This year I was really struggling, and I had resigned myself to wearing a dress that was in my wardrobe already – it looked ok but I wasn’t in love with it.

That was until Pink Clove got in touch and offered me the chance to try out three items from their new range. I’d never heard of the brand before, but they cater for women in sizes 16 – 32. I do prefer shopping with brands that are dedicated to plus sizes – I often find usual high-street brands just seem to add the extra material rather than think about where it might be needed more.

I ended up wearing the dress and the jacket to the party – I’ve written about each item in detail below, but I really loved my outfit. You’ll have to excuse to the toilet selfies – I completely forgot to ask anyone to take some pictures before they had hit the bar!! I accessorised it with thick black tights, black wedges and a  gold necklace and earrings.

Dress

I think having a black dress that you feel comfortable in for parties and nights out is something that every woman needs. Unfortunately, I had struggled to find one that I liked and showed off the good bits whilst covering the not so good bits. This one came and was absolutely PERFECT! It was quite short at the front, which was fine because I was wearing thick black tights, but the longer bit at the back was flattering. It was low cut – but again that was fine because that’s one part of my body I am quite happy with! The three quarter sleeves hid my wobbly arms but still looked dressy. The D-ring at the front hid my tummy, which is my problem area. I felt absolutely brilliant in it and had lots of compliments about it.

Duster coat

I’d not seen a jacket like this before but I thought it would look nice with the dress as an alternative to the usual pashmina I wear with a dress. It was perfect! It was a lovely length and was really floaty. The lace sleeves made it look really dressy, but I have worn it since with skinny jeans and a plain top and it worked really well.

Jumpsuit

I’ve always wanted a jumpsuit but I’ve never found one that was particularly flattering on my tummy, so I decided to see what this one was like. I haven’t got any photos of me wearing it (Graham is a rubbish photographer!!). I ordered it in my normal size, and it fitted, which was  good start. It was a bit shorter in the leg that on the model, but not ridiculously so and with a pair of heels it would have been fine. The playsuit looks ok – I can’t say I am in love with it, but it looks better than a lot than I have tried on. I think they’re just not really me!

I think that Pink Clove will definitely be the first place I look when I need new clothes from now on, especially as the prices are more than reasonable, and delivery was super fast.
