When I was given the opportunity to review a bottle of wine – a personalised bottle at that – I obviously had to think long and hard whether I really wanted to.
Ok, so that’s a lie. I think I replied to the email within seconds. I like personalised things. I love wine. The perfect combination!
Treat Republic sell a huge range of unique, handmade and personalised gifts – I could spend ages browsing through the various categories. I’ve definitely got my eye on some of the jewellery! We had the very difficult job of testing out the Personalised Sparkling Monopole Rose Wine, priced at £24.99.
The 75ml bottle can have a short personalised message, up to 60 characters, on the label. I chose to have ‘Rachel & Graham’ on ours. Big mistake. It meant Graham thought he was entitled to drink half of the bottle – I don’t share wine!!!
The bottle arrived just a couple of days after ordering, and was carefully wrapped up. It was beautifully presented in a lovely gold gift box, which can also be personalised with the recipients name (again, we had ‘Rachel & Graham’).
Inside the box was the tissue wrapped bottle, complete with personalised label.
Now, I may love a glass of wine or three, but I know absolutely nothing about it. It is described as a Brut Monopole sparkling rose from Cote D’Azur.Rose is not usually my wine of choice – I’m more of a red wine girl – but make it fizzy and I love it. This did not disappoint!
Normally, we would never dream of cracking open a bottle of ‘posh wine’ and polishing it off on a bog standard Saturday night in the house (ahem!) but needs must and all that. The kids decided they were going to have late naps and then not go to bed so they were sitting watching Frozen, Benjamin decided he was going to play up and the ironing needed doing. Not my idea of a fun Saturday night, but it was made just a little bit special by the wine.
Like I said, I’m no wine expert so I’m not going to try and describe all the different flavours or anything like that, but it was delicious. It was really light and crisp, and not gassy at all. We drank it chilled, and I can imagine it would be perfect in the summer. Even Graham, who isn’t a fan of wine usually enjoyed it, much to my disgust. He had the nerve to drink two glasses of it!
This would make a beautiful gift for Valentines Day, anniversaries, birthdays, or even just to say ‘I Love You’ (Hint hint Graham!!). At £24.99, I think it’s good value – you’re getting a decent bottle of wine delivered to your door with a personalised message.
I think this next picture sums up exactly what we thought of it…
