When I was pregnant with Harrison I suffered with high blood pressure, and ended up being induced three weeks early. Since then it has been fine *touch wood* but it is something I like to keep an eye on, especially now I’m pregnant again.
The Ozeri CardioTech Pro Series Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is perfect for doing this.
It is a portable blood pressure monitor with enough memory to save 180 readings – 90 from two separate users – and has a velcro wrist strap that is suitable for all wrist sizes. It comes in a little plastic case to protect it.
I was worried it may be complicated to use as I’m pretty rubbish with anything digital, but it really wasn’t. You put it on your wrist and hold your wrist level with your heart (the voice guide tells you if it’s in the right place). It then gently squeezes your wrist whilst it measures your blood pressure. You do have to keep very still whilst it’s on. It then displays your blood pressure clearly on the digital screen. The numbers never make much sense to me, but the voice guide classifies each reading according to the World Health Organisation. It also detects irregular heartbeats, otherwise known as arrhythmia.
It is clinically validated, however I would definitely recommend seeing your doctor if you’re worried about your blood pressure to be on the safe side, especially as I had two completely different readings within ten minutes.
For £19.95 from Amazon, I think this is a great little device to keep an eye on your blood pressure.
