Being an 80’s child, I grew up with the Care Bears, and when Graham and me got together twelve years ago, he bought me a new Care Bear every month for a couple of years.Eventually, my little bedroom at my mum and dad’s house was overrun with them, and I packed them away into the loft. A few years later when we moved into our first house, we went up there to discover the damp had got to them, and they all needed throwing away. I was heartbroken.
You can imagine how excited I was when I found out that the Care Bears are back, with a new range of soft toys. I was lucky enough to receive my favourite Care Bear of all – Tenderheart – along with a box of chocolates (which lasted about thirty seconds!) just in time for Valentines Day!
The new range consists of beanies and full sized plush toys, including both old and new characters. There are cute little 8″ beanies (RRP £7.99) and 14″ medium bears (RRP £17.99) which come complete with a DVD of an episode from the new animated series. If you want to splash out and go large, the 20″ bears (RRP £24.99) – the one we had – are perfect for snuggling up to, as Harrison and Alex can demonstrate.
The plush bears are beautifully made, with the distinctive Care Bear symbol on it’s tummy – a perfect gift for Valentines Day, Mother’s Day – or just to say ‘I Love You’.
