One of the most read books in our house is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The boys love reading it and talking about how the caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly. When our latest Bostik Blogger box came with the theme of ‘mini beasts’, I knew that we would just have to do something linked to the book.
Butterfly Life Cycle Plate
You will need:
Draw lines with a marker pen to divide the plate into four
Use the Bostik glue dots to attach an artificial leaf to one of the sections.
Screw up a small piece of tissue paper into a little ball. Attach it to the leaf using a glue dot.
Wrap two coloured pipe cleaners around each other and stick to a leaf in the next section using a glue dot to make a caterpillar.
Using a brown pen. draw a twig shape on the next section and twist the ends of a folded piece of tissue paper to make a chrysalis. Attach to the plate using glue dots.
In the final section, add one of the felt butterfly stickers!
Use it to retell the life cycle of a butterfly!
