SUCH a cliche, but this Friday has rolled around so fast. I’m sure it was Monday yesterday! I didn’t have a great start to the week – on Friday I came down with what I think was either nasty water infection or even a kidney stone. Whatever it was, it made me feel really, really rotten for a couple of days and I ended up spending Saturday in bed. Thankfully, I woke up on Sunday and it had gone, but it was not nice at all.
Onto this week’s Little Loves…
I literally watched episode after episode of Game of Thrones over the weekend when I was poorly and couldn’t get out of bed. I’m halfway through series 6 now so I am trying to ration myself to an episode every other night now – I don’t want to get to the end! I’m super, super excited about the trailer of Beauty and the Beast. It was one of my favourite Disney films as a kid, and I can’t wait to see this version. I’m looking forward to doing something new and going to the cinema by myself to watch it!
I also caught up on a lot of reading this week. I’m now on book number four of 2017, which considering last year I probably managed three or four in the whole year is pretty good going. I finished Me Before You, which I really liked, and now in the middle of reading Me After You, which is just as good. I also read a book called The Wave at Hanging Rock – it was a free one from the Kindle store, and was brilliant.
I’ve not heard anything new that I can think of, but I am absolutely loving Sia at the moment. I’ve always been a fan but hadn’t really heard anything by her for a while. When Chandelier came on the radio in the car the other day, I fell straight back in love with her. She’s so quirky and different, and her voice is amazing
Lots of cakes! Our lovely Landlord (yes, they exist – ours is amazing) had a new cooker delivered to us on Tuesday because the one that was here when we moved in was really old and kept tripping the electric. It’s so nice to have an oven that cooks properly so I’ve been busy baking. I never used to be a fan of baking but now I really enjoy it and find it incredibly relaxing. So far this week I’ve made a chocolate chip loaf, banana bread, lemon drizzle cake and some white chocolate and blueberry muffins. Over the weekend I’m attempting a sticky toffee pudding – be interesting to see how that turns out!
My rain coat finally arrived! It was only a cheapish one from Amazon but I only wanted it for school runs and going down to the beach. It fits nicely and has done the job so far. I haven’t got any photos to share of it though – I did get Graham to take a couple but they were pretty terrible to be honest! I also managed to finally wear my hair in a plait this week. It’s been years since it’s been long enough to do so I was really pleased. It’s a bit scruffy but I loved it!
Well, Graham is still off work from the fire, which is a bit shit to be honest, but he’s been told he’s back in a week on Monday so we’re going to try and get a few jobs done around the house and start getting the garden ready for our first spring and summer here. We’ve spotted a few snowdrops popping up in the front garden and there’s daffodils about to appear in the back. I’m so excited to see what else appears!
